Eileen Subinsky, CPM of Houston to receive TAA's Jennette Hunnicutt Distinguished Service Award
TAA has named Eileen Subinsky, CPM, of Michael Stevens Interests in Houston, as its 2010 Jennette Hunnicutt Distinguished Service Award recipient.
TAA's Jennette Hunnicutt Distinguished Service Award recognizes industry professionals who have provided leadership examples through devotion to the well-being of the rental housing industry and to the association but have not served as officers of TAA. The award acknowledges each recipient's lifetime of achievement within the industry and for the association.
Eileen is a career real estate professional with extensive experience in development, expansion and operation of management companies. She will be celebrating 40 years in this industry during TAA's conference, in addition to this much-deserved honor. She is a past president of the Houston Apartment Association and a long-time TAA Board member and NAA delegate.
Dedication Ceremony Honoring Michael S. Stevens Held at Hilton Americas Hotel
Developer Michael S. Stevensí contributions to the city of Houston left a profound and lasting impact on the downtown area through his dedicated leadership of the financing and development of more than one billion dollars of public or non-profit projects. Thursday, October 29th, 2009, at 4:00 pm, past and present city and county officials, dignitaries and invited guests will gather to honor his memory with the dedication of a plaque to be permanently installed in the Hilton Americas-Houston lobby.
Michael Stevens is well known in the city of Houston for his leadership and development on projects such as the conversion of the downtown Rice Hotel to the Rice Lofts, the 1,203 room Hilton Americas-Houston convention hotel, Bayou Place, Minute Maid Park and Reliant Stadium, plus many others that have resulted in the true revitalization of downtown Houston.
Also know for his business acumen, Stevens was the founder of Michael Stevens Interests, which, along with its affiliates, acquired, developed and operated more than 80 real estate projects, including over 10,000 apartment units and 40 different commercial projects representing more than 10 million square feet of rentable building area.
A native Houstonian, Stevens attended Robert E. Lee High School, graduating from the University of Houston with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. After serving his country in the United States Marine Corps, he went on to make a profound difference in the Houston that we know today through his dedication to and passion for the city he called home. Married to his childhood sweetheart Kim for 34 years, Stevens passed away earlier this year at the age of 58 due to complications from cancer, cutting short a life dedicated to the growth and revitalization of the city of Houston.
The October 29, 4:00 p.m. ceremony unveils the permanent memorial plaque installed in the Hilton Americas-Houston lobby, dedicating the hotelís Water Wall in memory of Michael Stevens. The Water Wall, a major focal point within the hotel, represents the imagery of life, light and movement, all symbolic of Michaelís life, and stands as an ongoing tribute to the man whose life-long dedication made our city what it is today.

(HOUSTON) . . . . Michael Stevens Interests, inc. (MSI) is pleased to announce the development of a class-A apartment community in the Champions/1960 submarket of Houston. Phase I of a potential multi-phase project will consist of 324 luxury apartment units and will be located near the intersection of Highway 249 and Cypresswood drive.
Phase I will start construction in the summer of 2007 with the first units to be delivered in the beginning of 2008. Phase I will comprise 17.7 acres and contain 1 and 2 bedroom apartments with high end community amenities, including picnic areas, a large screen theater room, fitness and business center, golf simulator and multiple swimming areas.
